Despite what the weather this week may say, spring is upon us, and when spring is sprung, next comes the Easter Bunny! Here’s everywhere you can hunt eggs, take photos with the Easter Bunny, and everything in between.
Eggstravaganza April 19 and 20, 2025
The Carson City Eggstravaganza at the Nevada State Railroad Museum takes place April 19 and 20, 2025 in Carson City.
Egg hunts will take place across Easter weekend on April 19 and 20, with multiple times offered, as well as a “premium hunt” which includes a tote bag, swag, and larger egg hunt prizes such as toys and plush animals. New this year: a petting zoo!
The premium egg hunt costs $25 per child, or $60 for three children, and takes place at 11 a.m.
The standard egg hunt for little hunters ages 1 to 4 takes place at 1 p.m., and the standard egg hunt for ages 5 to 10 takes place at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $26 for adults and ages 12 and up, $10 for children 4 to 11, and free for children three and under. Museum members receive a 50% discount.
Included in the ticket prices are the standard egg hunts, the petting zoo by Stockton Well Keystone, tickets for two train rides (30 minutes each), and admission to the museum.
The Eggstravaganza will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 19 and 20.
Underwater Egg Hunt April 19
This year, the annual Underwater Egg Hunt returns at the Carson City Aquatic Center at April 19.
Pre-registration will open on April 7.
While details for this year’s event have not yet been announced, typically, the event starts in the afternoon and family’s can preregister for 15 minute time slots.
The event is free for the community, and age groups are typically separated by pool. Lifejackets are available for participants. Children can then exchange their eggs for prizes donated by community partners and businesses!

Wild Wild West Easter Egg Hunt April 19
Nevada Day is hosting a new tradition in Carson City this year, the Wild Wild West Easter Egg Hunt on April 19, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This event is more than just an egg hunt; they will also be offering vendor booths, face painting, and more!
Interested in being a vendor? Booth fees are $75, and are limited to a first-come first-serve basis. Email nevadaday@nevadaday.com to inquire about being a vendor.
The event takes place at Pete Livermore Sports Complex at 1555 Livermore Lane. The first hunt begins at 10 a.m.
Carson City Library Egg Hunt April 19
Hop on over to the Carson City Library for their free annual Egg Hunt on April 19th at 10 a.m. This event is open to all ages, so bring the whole family for a morning of excitement and treasure hunting. Children and adults alike will enjoy searching for colorful eggs hidden throughout the library grounds.
After the hunt, stick around for more activities, including crafts, games, and surprises that will make this a day to remember. Whether you’re hunting for eggs or participating in the other fun events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
This event is free for all ages.
Camp Richardson Easter Egg Hunt: April 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the beach outside of The Grove. Complimentary baskets and crafts for kids ten and under. There is also a bunch at The Grove from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 19 and 20.
Heavenly Village Easter Egg Hunt: April 20 at 10 a.m. The egg hunt is $5, and is anticipated to sell out.
Easter Champagne Brunch Buffet and Easter Egg Hunt at Granlibakken Tahoe: The event takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the Easter Bunny arriving at 11 a.m. Egg Hunt begins at 11:15 a.m. Located at 725 Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City.
Easter Egg Splash and Dash at South Lake Tahoe Parks & Recreation Center Pool: The pool, located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe is hosting their Easter Egg Splash and Dash event. Open for kids ages 0-12, who can hunt for eggs to win exciting prizes, including a birthday party package, Rec Center passes, and day-use passes. Easter Bunny will make a special appearance for photos and fun. Sessions are separated by age group. Cost is $15 per child.
Mackay Mansion Easter Egg Hunt: The Mackay Mansion Easter Egg Hunt returns April 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Virginia City. The hunt includes pictures and raffle prizes, and costs $15 per child. Reservations are encouraged.
St. Mary’s Art Center Egg Hunt: The annual Easter Egg Hunt at St. Mary’s Art Center in Virginia City takes place April 20 at 1 p.m., so participants should arrive no later than 12:50 p.m. Search for golden eggs and guess how much candy is in the jar for a chance to win special prizes! Free event for kids up to 12 years of age; please, bring your own baskets.
Washoe Lake Easter Egg Hunt: The South Valley Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at the Washoe Lake State Park from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. April 19. The Easter Bunny arrives at 12 p.m. and the hunt starts at 12:30 sharp. Due to the cost of eggs, organizers will be using candy-filled plastic eggs. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Please plan to arrive early, as parking spots fill quickly. The South Valley Volunteer Fire Department is requesting a minimum $5 donation at the park entrance to help cover the cost of supplies.
The hunt is at Washoe Lake State Park Group Use Area. Take Exit 10 from I-580 and drive north on Eastlake Blvd. for approximately four miles. The park entrance is on the left. Turn left past the fee booth and follow the road towards the boat ramp for the parking areas.
