The fall season brings the return of pumpkin patches, haunted houses and corn mazes to Northern California.
Many pumpkin patches and corn mazes kick off the season starting Sept. 20 or by early October and are open through Halloween.
Below are some you can visit that are located in and around the Sacramento area.
COOL PATCH PUMPKINS - DIXON
Dixon’s Cool Patch Pumpkins off Interstate 80 is open from Sept. 20 through Halloween, according to their website.
Every year, their corn maze changes. In the past, the maze has set a world record for its size. This year's maze is dedicated to American farmers and the agricultural industry.
Anyone looking to buy tickets to the corn maze must be 18 years or older, and all minors in the maze must be accompanied by an adult.
Cool Patch Pumpkins also offers a pumpkin patch, a hay castle, hayrides, a "corn bath" where you can play in a giant pool of corn, and food and drinks.
FOG WILLOW FARMS - WILTON/ELK GROVE
Fog Willow Farms in Wilton along the banks of the Cosumnes River near Elk Grove has been operating for 22 years. Tens of thousands of schoolchildren visit the farm each year, according to its owner.
Pumpkin season begins on Sept. 27 through Nov. 2.
People can expect pig races, hay rides, family mining, frozen treats, petting zoos, kettle corn, lemonade and barbeque (on weekends).
DELL’OSSO FAMILY FARMS - LATHROP
Lathrop’s popular Dell’Osso Family farms boast several activities, including the corn maze, haunted castle, Del’Osso Express Train, slides, a pumpkin treehouse, blasters, mini golf, animal zoo, pedal cars, and obstacle course, a thrill hill and hayrides.
BISHOP’S PUMPKIN FARM - WHEATLAND
Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm has three different corn mazes depending on individual skill levels.
Visitors can also climb aboard the BPF Line, take a "sunflower stroll," visit a petting zoo or ride a carousel and other attractions.
Admission to the pumpkin farm is free most days, but some activities require a different amount of tickets.

DAVE’S PUMPKIN PATCH - WEST SACRAMENTO
Vierra Farms, the home of Dave’s Pumpkin Patch in West Sacramento offers several family-friendly activities enjoyable for all ages. Visitors can wander through the pumpkin patch, get lost in a 10-acre corn maze, ride a pony or try their "jumping pillow."
The pumpkin patch is open from Sept. 20 through Halloween.
NICK & RAY'S PUMPKIN PATCH - SACRAMENTO
Nick & Ray's Pumpkin Patch at Bistiao Farms in Sacramento features a haunted gold mine and barn, a corn maze, magic corn boxes and a little western town.
There is also food and Hawaiian shave ice for sale on the weekends.
Opening day is Oct. 3.
DUTCH HOLLOW FARMS - MODESTO
Dutch Hollow Farms in Modesto has dozens of fall attractions including a corn maze, pumpkin patch, petting zoo and "critter barn," zip lines, wagon ride, apple cannon, gem mining and pony rides.
Opening Day for the fall pumpkin season at Dutch Hollow Farms is Oct. 3.
APPLE HILL - EL DORADO COUNTY
We all know that Apple Hill is a popular spot to find everything apple, but many farms also have great pumpkin patches.
KEEMA'S PUMPKIN FARM - ELK GROVE
"Come enjoy the country," is Keema's Pumpkin Farm slogan — and they are correct. The family-oriented pumpkin farm in Elk Grove has been in the family for over 100 years.
The farm has a corn maze, tractor rides, farm animals and U-pick pumpkin fields for the whole family. It's open from Sept. 25 until Halloween.
FOWLER RANCH - LINCOLN
Fowler Ranch in Lincoln has a pumpkin patch, brewery and a farmers' market on Sundays.
LITTLE FIELD FARMS - LOOMIS
Little Field Farms in Loomis has plenty of family activities including a corn maze. There's also a four-acre U-pick pumpkin patch and a pumpkin launcher.
Little Field Farms is open from Sept. 20 through Halloween.
SOLSTICE FARMS - LOOMIS
Solstice Farms in Loomis has a "pumpkin patch after dark" that's open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday-Sunday starting Oct. 3.
Expect pumpkins, firepits, cotton candy, popcorn and corn hole. You can reserve a fire pit with smores.
BOBBY DAZZLER'S PUMPKIN PATCH - WOODLAND
Bobby Dazzler Farms in Woodland has tons of unique attractions including a corn bath, a cow train, a Milo Maze, face painting, bounce house, bungee jump and a huge pumpkin patch.
The farm offers free parking and admission, including to a play zone. But several attractions have to be bought separately.

Golden State Family Farms - Tracy
Golden State Family Farms' pumpkin patch can be found off Corral Hollow Road in Tracy and also features corn pits, petting zoo and pumpkin shooter.
