Nedra Dinger, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, following a courageous six-month battle with breast and bone marrow cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at a care home in Sacramento, California.

Born in Southfield, Michigan, she was the first of four children born to Wayne and Ingrid Riutta. After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the Women's Air Corps and achieved the rank of Airman 2nd Class. During her service, she met her first husband, James Dinger. Together they welcomed four sons between 1958 and the early 1960s. The family lived abroad in Morocco and Turkey during the 1960s, where she was respected for raising her four sons.

Returning to the United States in 1968, she worked part-time as a teacher's aide at Mather Air Force Base in Rancho Cordova, California. In the late 1970s, she became one of the first graduates of Cosumnes River College and later earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from California State University, Sacramento.

Her career with the California Department of Corrections spanned over 25 years, including serving as an Administrative Assistant to Midge Carroll, the first female warden in California, at the California Institution for Men in Chino. She further advanced her education by earning an accounting degree through correspondence from the University of California, Berkeley. She retired as a senior accountant after decades of dedicated state service.

After her divorce, she met and married her second husband, Glenn Case, in the late 1990s. The couple relocated to Chandler, Arizona, and after retirement, she pursued a successful second career as a “Super Seller” on eBay, specializing in thrift store clothing.

Later, they moved back to California, residing in Rancho Cordova and ultimately spending her final years in Ione.

She was preceded in death by her first husband James in 2016 and her second husband Glenn in 2022, her father Wayne, mother Ingrid, brothers Butch and John, and sister Bonita.

She leaves behind four devoted sons: Jon, Mark, Paul, and Phillip; four grandchildren: Andrew, Jason, Mick, and Teresa; and six great-grandchildren: Avery, Scarlett, Joseph, Xavier, Vincent, and Emily.

Her resilience, warmth, and dedication to family and community leave a lasting legacy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to cancer research foundations in her honor.
