Experience an afternoon of musical grandeur as the Prescott Chorale opens its 2025-2026 season with a Prescott first: Mozart’s Grand Mass in C Minor. Majestic, powerful, and deeply moving, this masterwork stands alongside the greatest sacred choral works in history – Bach’s Mass in B Minor and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis.

Step into the warmth and wonder of the season with Christmas is Coming, a joyful two-concert celebration presented by the Prescott Chorale. Held in the beautiful setting of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, this treasured holiday tradition offers two distinct performances filled with music, magic, and merriment for all ages.
Friday Evening
Begin your holiday season with a majestic evening of sacred and seasonal music. The heart of the program is J.S. Bach’s brilliant Magnificat – a luminous setting of the Song of Mary filled with divine joy and Baroque splendor. This masterpiece perfectly captures the reverence and radiance of Christmas. The program also includes believed carols and choral works that evoke the peace, hope, and glory of the season, performed with the Prescott Chorale’s signature excellence and holiday spirit.
Saturday Afternoon
Celebrate the lighter side of Christmas with a festive, family-friendly matinee featuring the Prescott Chorale Children’s Choir, directed by Melanie McCally. This heartwarming performance includes favorite carols, joyful surprises, and cherished holiday tunes that will delight both the young and young-at-heart. And of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance to share the joy of the season.
After each performance, you’re warmly invited to continue the celebration at the Prescott Chorale Christmas Cookie Reception in the Parish Hall – an annual gathering of music lovers, neighbors, and friends sharing sweet treats and holiday cheer.
Gospel, Chant, and Jazz Mass

A World Premiere Commission Celebrating 10 years of song. Join in for a groundbreaking musical celebration as the Prescott Chorale proudly presents its first commissioned work – a vibrant and genre-defying Jazz Mass composed by Henry Flurry, Artistic Director of the Arizona Philharmonic, with libretto by the acclaimed Anthony Silvestri.
This bold new composition marks a thrilling artistic milestone for the Chorale and offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience the world premier of a major chorale work. Infused with the soul of gospel, the mystery of chant, and the electricity of jazz, this is sacred music re-imagined in a fresh, innovative, and deeply moving musical composition. Expect dazzling solos, lush harmonies, and a dynamic jazz ensemble accompanying the Chorale in a performance that promises both spiritual resonance and musical surprise.
Also on the program is a luminous new short work by celebrated contemporary composer Elaine Hagenberg, known for her emotionally rich and accessible choral writing.
Close out the season with a bold new commission—an original Jazz Mass composed by Henry Flurry with libretto by Anthony Silvestri. Blending gospel, chant, and jazz influences, this genre-defying piece reimagines sacred music for the modern age. Also featured is a new work by beloved contemporary composer Elaine Hagenberg.
