Remote Surveillance Trailer in Rio Linda, CA

Businesses like yours that exist in today's commercial landscape have to navigate a litany of complex security challenges that go beyond their property and premises. We're talking about criminals intent on trespassing, theft, squatting, vandalism, and more. Unfortunately, conventional security efforts are often underwhelming and ineffective in managing modern risks. That's because traditional systems are reactive, not proactive, by nature. That means they're designed to respond to criminal acts after they've happened. Typical responses from these systems include sounding alarms and notifying the authorities - but only after trespassers are on-site. This type of response leads to unnecessary false alarms and frustratingly slow police response times, giving criminals the opportunity to escape with sensitive assets, data, and more.

Mr. Security Camera was founded to address these shortcomings by offering business owners like you proactive, comprehensive security solutions you can count on. With innovative tools like a remote surveillance trailer in Rio Linda, CA, you can get ahead of security breaches, deter potential criminals from committing crimes, and solidify the overall safety of your property without having to rely on outdated security models. By focusing on prevention and lightning-fast response times, we help make peace of mind plentiful for today's most successful property owners and managers.

ELVERTA, CA – Hold onto your cowboy hats, Rio Linda and Elverta! The whispers have turned into a roar, a tantalizing promise of beaver-themed bliss! Yes, that’s right, the legendary, the colossal, the undeniably Texan cultural institution known as Buc-ee’s has announced its plans to grace our humble corner of California with its presence.

Now, we put “gas station” in quotes, dear readers, because anyone who has dared to venture into the hallowed halls of a Buc-ee’s knows it’s less a pit stop and more of a pilgrimage. Imagine, if you will, a sprawling wonderland of jerky, fudge, beaver nuggets, and enough quirky merchandise to outfit a small army of road trippers. This isn’t just filling up your tank; it’s filling up your soul!

The Texas titan, which has already conquered the hearts (and stomachs) of folks in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and even Colorado, has finally set its sights on the Golden State. And where, you ask? Why, in the heart of Elverta, of course!

According to the Buc-ee’s CEO, Alan Smithee, the seeds of this ambitious endeavor were sown way back in 2015, during the raucous revelry of the Aftershock music festival at Gibson Ranch. “The vast, untamed expanse of Elverta, nestled conveniently at the crossroads of I-5, I-80, and near the mighty CA-99, just called to us,” Smithee shared with Rio Linda Online. “With CalTrans confirming a daily deluge of 12,300 to 46,700 vehicles traversing CA-99, we thought, why let them just drive by? Let’s give them a reason to stop, to savor, to experience the magic of Buc-ee’s!”

The gargantuan travel center will prominently be located off of CA-99 at Elverta Road and East Levee, occupying more than 75,000-square-feet of space. The outpost will boast a bustling convenience store and 120 fueling stations, employing more than 200 team members, ensuring visitors the fast and convenient service that has become Buc-ee’s gold standard.

And magic it will be! Picture a facility so vast, it could practically swallow Elverta whole. But fear not, dear neighbors! Smithee assures us that the store will be a beacon of local employment, particularly for those with a flair for the dramatic and a tolerance for sweltering beaver suits.

The grand opening is slated for February 29th, 2027. A date so far away, it almost feels like a dream. But until then, stay tuned for updates, and dream of beaver nuggets and brisket.

However, before you start planning your 2027 road trip, let us offer a hearty congratulations! You’ve successfully navigated the treacherous waters of our annual April Fool’s Day extravaganza! Yes, dear readers, this entire tale was a whimsical fabrication, a playful poke at the dreams and desires of our community. We hope you enjoyed the ride!

Fire burned at least two modular homes in Sacramento County on Monday evening, according to the Sacramento County Metro Fire District.

The Sac Metro Fire crews arrived at a heavy fire near Elkhorn Boulevard and Sixth Street in Rio Linda around 7:10 p.m. Officials said the fire burned multiple modular buildings and threatened a nearby home on another property.

Sac Metro Fire said the crews contained the fire to the property of origin, saving the neighboring home the fire had threatened.

Bystanders described "squatters" occupying the vacant property for several days, officials said. It is unclear if the property was occupied at the time of the fire.

Officials said eastbound Elkhorn Boulevard was closed in the area, but all lanes have since been reopened.

Rio Linda, CA – Cam Skattebo, a hometown hero who rose from the football field at Marion Adams Memorial Stadium of Rio Linda to star at Arizona State University, is facing a challenging pre-NFL Draft season. While preparing for the 2025 NFL Combine, Skattebo has been named in a $300,000 lawsuit stemming from a 2023 golf cart incident involving former teammate Mattheos Katergaris.

For those in Rio Linda who followed Skattebo’s early football career, this news comes as a stark contrast to the local pride he’s generated. From his days playing under the Friday night lights in Rio Linda, his dedication and hard-hitting style were evident.

The lawsuit alleges that Skattebo jumped onto the back of a golf cart, causing Katergaris to fall and sustain injuries requiring months of treatment. Katergaris, who never played for ASU and later entered the transfer portal, is seeking $300,000 in damages. The timing couldn’t be worse for Skattebo, with the NFL Combine underway and the draft just around the corner.

Despite the legal cloud, NFL teams, including the Cleveland Browns, are reportedly interested in the Rio Linda native. The Browns, facing the potential departure of Nick Chubb, are looking for a running back with a physical, blue-collar style – a style that Skattebo embodies. The Browns see Skattebo’s relentless running style as a potential fit for their offense. However, the legal issue could raise concerns for the team’s front office.

Sports Illustrated recently indicated that the Indianapolis Colts are now also interested in Cameron.

Arizona State’s legal team is contesting the lawsuit, arguing that Katergaris’ medical expenses were excessive and that the university has already covered some of the treatment. They acknowledge Skattebo was on the golf cart when the incident occurred.

Skattebo’s journey from Rio Linda to the national stage has been marked by his versatility and determination. At ASU, he excelled as a running back, receiver, and special teams contributor, showcasing the same drive that made him a standout in his hometown.

As Skattebo prepares for the NFL Combine, the focus will be on his performance on the field. However, the legal matter adds an extra layer of complexity to his pre-draft process. NFL teams are known for their thorough background checks, and this incident will undoubtedly be a topic of discussion.

Local Rio Linda residents are encouraged to share their thoughts of support for Cam Skattebo as he navigates this challenging time.

Stay tuned to RioLindaOnline.com for updates on Cam Skattebo’s journey to the NFL.

A committee comprised of educators, parents, local officials, and Twin Rivers Unified School District (TRUSD) representatives recently met to discuss the possibility of naming the Rio Linda High School football field after a deserving individual. The overwhelming consensus was to honor retired head coach and athletic director, Michael Morris.

When the football field and running track are resurfaced this year, it is likely that the field will be named “Michael Morris Field at Marion Adams Memorial Stadium”.

Coach Morris’s legacy at Rio Linda High School is one of dedication, leadership, and remarkable achievement. Born in Redding, California, he excelled in football, basketball, and track and field at Enterprise High School, where he also served as student body president. His athletic pursuits continued at Shasta College, where he again participated in football and track.

He then transferred to CSU Sacramento, earning his B.A. in History with a double concentration in World and U.S. History, along with a minor in Philosophy. He later received his teaching credential from Sac State and began his career at Rio Linda Jr. High School. After brief stints at Foothill High School and Martin Luther King Jr. Junior High School, he found his long-term home at Rio Linda High School in 1991.

Coach Morris’s impact on Rio Linda High School spanned decades. He taught World History and served as Athletic Director until his retirement in June 2022. His contributions extended beyond the school, as he served as the FVL representative to the Sac-Joaquin Section Board of Managers, was a member of the Section’s Playoff Committee, and the Section’s Football Advisory Committee. He furthered his education, earning a master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University, Irvine.

His coaching career began at San Juan High School, where he quickly rose from freshmen assistant coach to junior varsity line coach and defensive coordinator. He then served as assistant head coach and line coach at Foothill High School for four years before taking the helm at Rio Linda.

From 1991 to 2013, Coach Morris served as the head football coach at Rio Linda, leaving an indelible mark on the program. During his 23-year tenure, the Knights were Section Champions in 2004, runners-up in 1998, made the playoffs 13 times, won 7 CVC titles, and amassed an impressive 86-30-1 record in the CVC and a 148-103-1 overall record. His exceptional leadership earned him numerous accolades, including CIF Model Coach (2013), the “Michael D. Gebhardt Coaches Award” (2014), Sacramento Bee Coach of the Year (2004), National Football Foundation “Red Smith” Award (2005), and Optimist All-Star North Coach (2007 and 2013).

Beyond high school football, Coach Morris demonstrated his commitment to the community by volunteering as the Head Coach for the Law Enforcement Team (the Hogs) in the annual Guns and Hoses Football Game (Pig Bowl) from 2011 to 2024, achieving a remarkable 9-4 record. His final game, the 50th Pig Bowl, was a fitting victory, with the Hogs defeating the Fire Department 27-13.

Currently, Coach Morris is in his ninth season with the American River College Beavers, serving as the Running Backs Coach and, more recently, the Tight Ends Coach and Run Game Coordinator.

Coach Morris and his wife, Debbie, reside in Elverta.

The committee’s nearly unanimous vote to name the field in his honor will be presented to the Twin Rivers Unified School District Board for consideration on February 25, 2025.

It is important to note that this proposal concerns the field itself, and does not involve renaming the stadium, which is currently, deservedly, named for Coach Marion Adams.
