Pursuant to 16 USC§ 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50(a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Naches Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This Order supersedes Order #06-17-05-25-26, dated August 28, 2025, signed by Forest Supervisor Tara Umphries. This Order is effective September 2, 2025 and will remain in effect through December 31st. 2025, unless rescinded sooner.
Prohibitions: 1. Entering into or being upon National Forest System lands, as described below and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A (36 CFR § 261.53(e)].
2. Being on a National Forest System trail, as described below and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.55(a)].
3. Being on a National Forest System Road as described below and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.54(e)].
4. Use of vehicle off of National Forest System Roads as described below and displayed on the attached map, Exhibit A [36 CFR § 261.56].
CLOSURE AREA DESCRIPTION: The Wildcat Fire Closure Area is described as: All lands within Township 17N, Range 13E, Sections 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33 that are within the William 0. Douglas Wilderness: Township 17N, Range 12E, All sections that are within the William 0. Douglas Wilderness: Township 17N, Ranger I IE, All sections that are within the William 0. Douglas Wilderness: Township 16 N, Range I 1 E, All sections that are within the William 0. Douglas Wilderness: Township 16N, Range 1 OE, All sections that are within the William 0. Douglas Wilderness, and including the Pacific Crest Trail #200 North to the Chinook Pass Trailhead: Township 15N, Range 11E, Sections: 01 , 02, 03, 04, 05, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13,, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 that arc within the William 0. Douglas Wilderness, and also including sections: 27 all lands North of Bumping River Trail #971 and also section: 28 all lands that are North and East of the Pacific Crest Trail #2000: Township 15 N, Range 12 E, Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 28 and 29: Township 16N, Range 11 E, Sections: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 08, 09, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, 34, and 35:

EXEMPTIONS: Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261 .S0(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
2. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation Order), specifically exempting them from this Order. These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A. Violations of these prohibitions are punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.00 for an individual or $10,000.00 for a corporation, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. (16 USC§ 551; 18 USC§§ 3551, 3571, and 3581.)
