Popular fast-casual chain Chipotle Mexican Grill is opening three new locations in northern California, including one in the Sacramento area.
Company spokesperson Annie Gradinger confirmed via email that Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants will open in Rocklin, Redding and Woodland, as reported by ABC10.
Each of the locations will feature the brand’s signature Chipotlane, a drive-thru pickup lane that allows diners to grab digital orders without leaving their cars, Gradinger said.
Here’s what to know:
Chipotle Mexican Grill opened in Denver in 1993 and expanded to more than 2,300 restaurants across the globe, the restaurant’s website said.
According to a news release, the company expects to open 315 to 345 more locations in 2025.
At least 80% will include the drive-thru pickup lane.
Chipotle Mexican Grill will officially open Thursday at 1460 East Main St. in Woodland.
Redding is slated to get its second Chipotle restaurant.
The new location will open Thursday at 4000 South Bonnyview Road in Redding.
Chipotle’s newest Sacramento-area restaurant does not yet have an opening date, Gradinger said.
It will be at 2310 Sunset Boulevard, near The Human Bean coffee shop, the Stanford Plaza shopping mall and Moo Moo’s Burger Barn.
Gradinger said the Placer County location is expected to open “later this month.”
Each Chipotle location will be open 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Chipotle Mexican Grill offers a focused menu of burritos, tacos, burrito bowls and salads made from fresh, high-quality raw ingredients, prepared using classic cooking methods, the website said.
Ingredients include white or brown rice, pinto or black beans, cheese, lettuce, fajita vegetables, sour cream and salsa.
Chicken burritos start at $10.10. There are also vegan and plant-based options including sofritas and veggie burritos. Both also start at $10.10.
Burrito prices increase based on your choice of protein. Carnitas burritos are $10.75 apiece, while burritos with steak and beef barbacoa start at $11.85.
Sacramento-area diners can try the chain’s new chipotle honey chicken for a limited time, Gradinger said.
According to the website, a chipotle honey chicken burrito costs $10.60.
The price is the same for a burrito bowl, salad bowls and three tacos.
The price drops to under $5 if you opt for one taco instead of three.
Quesadillas are slightly more costly and can only be ordered online.
Chicken, sofritas or cheese quesadillas start at $10.65, while chipotle honey chicken quesadillas are $11.15.
Carnita quesadillas are $11.30 and $12.40 for beef barbacoa and steak quesadillas.
You can add tortilla chips and associated dips for $2 to $8.50.
Drink options start at $3.10.
Yes, Chipotle is hiring at its new Northern California locations.
Gradinger said there are approximately 30 jobs per location, with competitive benefits.
Those include “a crew bonus with the opportunity to earn an extra month’s worth of pay each year, a debt-free college degree program and English-as-a-second-language access to mental healthcare for employees and their families,” she said.
